Sorry for all the 'Mansion' posts, but I can't stop thinking about the Haunted Mansion lately. I have been having dreams about the Mansion and about being at Disneyland, even a few nights before Guillermo del Toro made his announcement, I was dreaming about the glorious Haunted Mansion.

In the dream I remember the most (one that I had about two nights before Guillermo del Toro claimed to remake the Haunted Mansion), I went to Disneyland and remember thinking it was awkward that I had to go in through some sort of secret back way (I really wanted to see the front entrance and walk through main street first). I then made my way to the mansion and was very upset to see it closed down. I went inside and began asking people why they would dare do such a thing and they said, "look at the line outside, it's so short. We are trying to remodel it to get more people to come on the ride." I then looked at their remodeling plans and took over the project. "No, no, no, this is all wrong, people. You need to this and we need to make it look like this, we must keep the style of this place looking amazing..."

Either I am a control freak or I am just having Disneyland withdrawals.

Vampires...

Haven't always been a huge vampire fan, but Dracula (1931) is a Halloween classic. It's got to be the only vampire themed film that I find to be quite good, though maybe I haven't seen very many. I have not been inspired by anything related to Twilight nor become a fan of any shows like True Blood or The Gates. I guess vampires aren't particularly my favorite... Although, I do love watching Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire every Halloween season, but that's mainly due to nostalgia. I'll have to do a post on that silly movie soon...

Guillermo Again!

Turns out he will be co-writing and producing instead of directing. I hate being misinformed- it makes me look as foolish as this guy.

... still bound to be better than the 2003 version, though.

"Guillermo!"

Must admit that my friends and I jumped for joy when we heard the news about one of our favorite directors, Guillermo del Toro, directing a remake of 'The Haunted Mansion.' Ever since the first one came out we've had plenty of discussions about how it could have been so much better so hopefully our dreams will come true! Hey, it's Disney- our dreams are supposed to come true!

The Box is Out!

After becoming so dedicated to Halloween, I have made it a tradition to officially take out my "Halloween Box" on the fifth of July and open it up to begin making plans for the upcoming Halloween season. I choose the fifth because it's the day after the fourth, which is technically the last holiday before Halloween. It is also a good place because it's early enough to give me some time to really think and begin coming up with ideas. Don't get me wrong, I love me some summer, but I am definitely excited to open up the box and look through my collection of holiday magazines and old notes from Halloweens past.

The Cave Man

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was on this afternoon and I gladly watched it while working on my puppets for my stop-motion film. Because I was focused on working on my puppets, I was listening to the film more than watching it and I remembered how much I love the score composed by Nick Cave. I then remembered that I had recently found this picture of him and thought he looked so much like Billy Butcherson in it, so I had to post it.
