The Great Houdini
Since his 137th birthday on Thursday, I've been thinking about The Great Houdini. Harry Houdini has always been inspiring to me, as he has been to many, so I decided to see if I could find an interesting documentary or video about him on YouTube to share and I found this episode of Dead Men's Tales:
Not only were Houdini's tricks and stunts brilliant and original, but his involvement in the spiritualism movement was also quite interesting to learn about. Here's some info on how Houdini set out to disprove self-proclaimed psychics and mediums: Wikipedia.org

This Won't Hurt A Bit
Actually it did hurt. A lot. This week I had to have a root canal. It was probably the most horrific and excruciating experience of my life. Six shots of novocain couldn't even stop the pain, apparently the infection forming in my nerves was much worse than we had thought... and so began a horrible three hour procedure of getting those nerves out. I won't go into detail, but I figure since I have a bit of a spooky blog, I may as well write a blog post about something gruesome every once in a while, or at least this time. Anyway, thank goodness for loving parents and prescription drugs. In the words of Mischa Barton from the Sixth Sense, "I'm feeling much better now."

Fat Tuesday?
Ok, so I know Mardi Gras was yesterday, but I've been busy, and in lots of pain from horrible dental experiences... a post all its own.

Philips Carousel
Just saw this ad for Philips electronics in my film class yesterday and thought I'd share it here. It's edgy, eerie, and extremely well done. Click on the image below to watch on YouTube.com.
