Mardi Gras

I've always wanted to go to the French Quarter in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. Just a reoccurring travel dream, so far. I imagine, with all of its strangeness, odd beauty, and down-right wildness on this of all days, it must be at least a little bit like walking into... the twilight zone.

  1. You gotta Gotta GOTTA GO!!!! we got really addicted to NOLA, especially the French Quarter & have visited several times. Only bad thing about summers there, is the intense heat, but, it IS the French Quarter, so it's all good in the end. we haven't been there for Mardi Gras, but, when my friend (a travel guide) was running a Gay Mardi Gras trip each year, we went on that a few times & had an absolute BLAST!!! & with you being a girl of Horror..if i may recommend the month of October to you, because, the Halloween Parade in the French Quarter is TRULY like NO other. i think you would LOVE it. Oh, & Xmas is lovely as well, so see the French Quarter ALL lit up in lights, really is quite heavenly. But, honestly, Halloween is a wonderful time to go & it's actually observed as like a REAL holiday there too, so, you're allowed to claim it as an official day off from your place of employment, if you wish. so yeah, you really GOTTA GO!!!.

P.S..hey & i think..Ryan Murphy of American Horror Story, is working on a project with Susan Sarandon & Jessica Lange, with them playing Bette Davis & Joan Crawford? just in case you didn't know. i know you dig both Jessica & American Horror story a lot.
